Kid Cudi and Kanye on 106 & Park
Now we all know that Kid Cudi's appearance on 106 brought his caliber of fame to a whole nother level (yup whole nother lol) But after watching the show and talking to a few people about it, I got to thinking. When we see a guy like Cudi "make it" (he's stamped so he's made it) we think "it's possible. the dream is possible"......And I don't want to discourage anyone and say it's not, but the industry really is about who you know. Drake and Kid Cudi are my favorite new artist personally. Drake started getting the attention he deserved after he signed with Lil' Wayne. Cudi got the recognition he deserved after signing with Kanye West. Now neither of these guys were discovered just off of their talent, they both had managers who were affiliated with the stars that ended up singing them to a major contract. For Example: Cudi's manager was Plain Pat, who is Kanye's A&R. So I say all this to say, what can we do as artist to actually matter and progress if we aren't stamped?

Jerz on WSHH
I was just on rockthedub.com and I ran across this freestyle by my homie Jerz. It's funny because me and jerz go wayyyyyyyyyyyy back and I haven't heard anything new from him in a minute. Back before the braids, back to Neako's studio in moms basement, lol.. Glad to see he's doing his thing!
Download his "Hearts and Souls" mixtape too!
TABI & LUGAR LIVE IN GEORGETOWN
My brother and I hit Sports Zone in Goergetown last Friday for Tabi Bonney and Lugars show. Dope event (free food and drinks yeahhhhh!)
M.I.A- it's a boy!
"New mother M.I.A. is determined to perform at the Oscars on Sunday (22Feb09), just 11 days after giving birth to her first child - even if it means appearing as a hologram.
The singer is booked to take the stage at the ceremony and sing the track she co-wrote with A.R. Rahman for movie Slumdog Millionaire, which is nominated in the Best Song category. Academy bosses recently revealed they had offered the British-born singer a bed
to sing from, if she needs to rest after the trauma of delivering her baby son last week.
And Rahman reveals M.I.A. is considering every option, so she can sing O Saya at the Hollywood bash. The songwriter says, “That’s the million dollar question. She wants to. In fact, she said she’ll do it with Hollywoodm. She has all these ideas. I don’t know how it’s going to be possible, though. Having a baby is such an important thing in your life - more important than winning an Oscar.”

Chris Barz "You Cool" produced by BKS
I saw Chris perform "You Cool" this past Monday night at Pure and he killed it! I like this kids vibe (not kid as in kid but kid as in guy lol). Real MC ish. The beat is fresh too. Reminds me of a Tribe Midnight Marauders track

I was lucky enough to perform with Diz and U-N-I this past Friday @ The Spliff in LA. It was a dope show. I'm a bigger fan of them both now. My performance was ummm......let's just say it could have been stronger, but decent nonetheless.
